Welcome to The Byrd Herd
I've decided that my family is much more interesting than I am alone, so I thought it may be fun to have a family blog. What a great way to keep family and friends posted on what's going on around here and of course to see the latest pictures. So, if you will, join me on the adventure of the life an ordinary family.
First of all let me introduce the Byrd Herd:
- I am Tara Byrd. I am a mom, a wife, a book merchandiser and a purse designer (check out my bags at byrdbags.com or the Hospice of Huntington Gift Shop). I love to read, scrapbook and sew. If I have free time (yeah, right), I like to run, walk in the park and drink coffee.
- Dan Byrd (my husband of 9 years) is the Southern Baptist Campus Minister at Marshall University. His ministry, known as Revolution Ministries, is involved in many neat things on and off campus...but most imporatantly, they are passionate about serving Christ. Dan loves to be around people. He also likes to read and talk about Jesus. He is planning on starting his Doctrate Degree in 2007.
- Grace Byrd (my 7 year old (going on 17) daughter is in second grade and loves to talk and sing. She has a contagious laugh and is always expressing herself. She loves to read, ride her bike and run. Her favorite foods are spaghetti and tacos.
- Olivia (my baby-who isn't a baby anymore) is 5 years old and started kindergarten this year. Her smile warms my heart and she always has hug and kiss ready. She loves to make crafts, play on the computer and play with her toys. Her favorite foods are macaroni & cheese and chicken nuggets.
- Last, but not least, is Hershey. She is our 2 1/2 year old chocolate Labradoodle. She is an absolute hoot to have around and is rubbed and kissed at least a thousand times daily. Her favorite place is the couch and in someone's lap (all 50 lbs. of her). She tolerates baths and loves to play fetch. Her best (and only) and only trick is to sit for a treat...but we are working on that. Her whole bady wags with her tail and she always ready to sneak a lick in when you least expect it (so watch out when you get your face close to hers).
So that's us...The Byrd Herd. I hope you are encouraged by our stories and our lives. We feel privledged that you are along for the ride!
