What a crazy week...

Hi everyone...sorry this blog entry is late. It has been a crazy week. Revolution (Dan's campus ministry) had a semi-formal on Saturday night. It was a blast. Dan and I were definitely feeling old trying to keep up with the students and needless to say neither of us have any dancing ability. But it was still a ton of fun. Some good friends of ours (who we met and came to love in Boston...and now live in Loisville, KY) came and spoke at the semi-formal and we had a wonderful visit. They even got to check out our church with us on Sunday. I also took on a daring task this week with my very talented friend Tricia. Since my funds to replace my kitchen floor tiles went out the window when I hit a deer and had to pay a deductablie to get my van back to it's normal shape we decided to paint the tiles. I love the look of slate so Tricia worked her magic and came out with an amazing floor that looks like stone. I love it! Hopefully, the five coats of poly (so I'm a little OCD) will keep it looking great for a long time. Also, we got news on Monday that Dan's grandmother (affectionately known to us as Meme) passed away. Dan arranged a flight to leave for the funeral and was set to leave town on Wednesday. He found out after I had dropped him off at the airport that his flight from Huntington had been canceled due to fog. So he ended up renting a car and making the long trek to Dothan Alabama via car. So 24 hours of driving in three days and Dan should be returning home mid-day tomorrow. So ends our crazy week. I hope everyone is doing well. Enjoy the pics.

Winter Wonderland

Winter Wonderland

Hello everyone! It has been cold here in Huntington this past week. The girls' school was delayed two days this week and closed the day after we got 6" of snow. The temps have gotten down to zero. BURRRR! We have also had students over alot this month. That has been fun.On Wednesday snow was piled high and the girls were itchin' to get in it. So Dan took them to Ritter Park to go sledding. They had a blast! I had a great time, too (I stayed home and snuggled in front of the fireplace with a book)...AHHH...now that's my idea of FUN!Even Hershey had a new experience with the snow. She wasn't sure what to think about all that white stuff but finally ventured out. She is definitely spoiled though because she was all about "taking care of business" and heading back into the warm house.Well, here are some pics for you. There are even some of Dan and Olivia making snow angels and Grace warming up with hot chocolate. All in all, it has been a good week. The snow is lingering and the fire is roaring. Hope everyone is staying warm in your neck of the woods.
